Gracie’s Skydive challenge!

Gracie Thomas from South Wales raised over £1.1K for Winston’s Wish after completing a skydive in March 2025 on her 19th birthday with her brother.
It’s always something I’ve wanted to do, and then I decided to it for charity. It wasn’t something I was nervous about at all. It felt like the perfect opportunity to do something bold and meaningful.

Having been gifted the challenge by her stepdad, Gracie decided she would complete her dream in memory of her Mam and Nan, while supporting other bereaved children and their families.
“My Mam used to tell me I’m fearless, so doing the skydive was something I was really looking forward to. It was an unforgettable experience, and it lived up to every expectation. It was even more special because my brother joined me at the last minute, which meant a lot. It felt like we were both doing something powerful together, in memory of our Mam and Nan.”
“Those firsts’ after losing a loved one are always the most difficult, so doing something so thrilling felt like the best way to get through it. My Mam’s family motto was ‘Never give up, never surrender’, which during these times of grief has helped me push through, and to never let it get the best of me.”
Why I’m supporting Winston’s Wish

Gracie was first introduced to Winston’s Wish through her college after her Nan died in 2023. The advice she received was life-changing for her and a source of support after her Mam died in August 2024.
“I saw how grief can hit hard, especially for young people. Winston’s Wish supports children through the heartbreak of losing a loved one, and I just wanted to help.”
If this skydive and the funds raised can support even one child through something similar, then it’s all been worth it.
